Premier League giants Liverpool have just lost one of their star players in Philippe Coutinho, and it is little surprise that manager Jurgen Klopp is already in the market for a big name replacement.
There are two names now on everybody’s lips at Anfield, according to the Liverpool Echo, and they are of Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka and Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins.
The former has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich, but Liverpool reportedly remain confident of securing his services despite the Bavarians’ interest.
Martins meanwhile has also been tipped for a move to a number of clubs, so the Reds will have a battle on their hands for both players.
Goretzka has netted four times in 11 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, and has established himself as one of Europe’s top young midfielders.
At just 22-years of age the German international has a lot of room for growth, and could become a great presence in the heart of Klopp’s midfield.
Martins has registered five goals and three assists in 17 games during this Primeira Liga campaign for Sporting, and, at the same age as Goretzka, is also one for the future.
